GIRO STORY EP.2: Two Fantastic Champions - Nibali and Contador

Full Speed Ahead and Astana have had an important partnership for many years and originally shared a common denominator in Vincenzo Nibali. 
In the 2013 Giro, Vincenzo Nibali gained time gradually on his overall rivals. He rarely seemed in difficulty, but admitted that he was in trouble on stage seven to Pescara when he crashed in the rain. Vincenzo sealed victory in the Giro d'Italia with a solo win in the snow at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, dominating the race while equipped with his FSA K-Force Light handlebars.

The partnership with Astana continued to provide great satisfaction and in 2014 the Kazakhstan team launched a new Italian talent: Fabio Aru. Aru claimed the first big win of his career at Montecampione concluding the Giro in 3rd position with his K-Force top-of-the-line carbon range cockpit.

The 2015 season represented an authentic “K-Force challenge” for FSA. Tinkoff-Saxo equipped with K-Force cockpit and the winning K-Force light BB386Evo crankset, was lead by the Spanish champion Alberto Contador. In the meantime, the fierce Astana team was headed by the young Aru and Mikel Landa and equipped with FSA cockpits.

The Astana duo attacked Contador leaving the Spaniard isolated during the penultimate days mountainous finale, featuring the Colle delle Finestre and Sestriere climbs. However, having started the day with 4’37” over Aru, Contador’s race lead was never really challenged.
This edition ended with an FSA triumph: FSA components swept the podium with Contador in 1st who preceded Aru and Landa. Overall, the FSA teams achieved 12 wins in 21 stages.
