Giro d'Italia, a great edition for FSA

The 102nd edition of the Giro d’Italia has been finished in Verona, with important final results for FSA
Two of our sponsored teams have reached the final podium, an important result, that confirmed the great FSA feeling in the most prestigious Italian race.

VINCENZO NIBALI TOOK THE SECOND PLACE

Our champion Vincenzo Nibali, leader of Bahrain-Merida, took another podium place at the Giro d’Italia, the 6th in his career, always and however with FSA components. The Shark confirmed his second place overall, after a strong performance in the closing time trial!

FIRST GT PODIUM FOR PRIMOZ ROGLIC

Primoz Roglic, leader of Jumbo-Visma, completed the podium with the third position. In the final time trial in Verona, Roglic gained enough time on his rival for third place, Mikel Landa. For Roglic and Team Jumbo-Visma it was a successful Giro with two time trial victories with Vision components, and five-days in the maglia rosa. It is his first podium place in a Grand Tour. Last year he finished fourth in the Tour.

ANOTHER WHITE JERSEY FOR MIGUEL ANGEL LOPEZ

The Astana leader Miguel Angel Lopez for the second time in a row won the title of the best young rider of the Italian Grand tour, wearing the white jersey on the podium in Verona. In the final general classification of the race Lopez took a solid 7th place. A great edition for Astana Pro Team, with three wins by Dario Cataldo and the Basque climber Pello Bilbao, king of the Queen stage on Monte Avena.

AN HISTORICAL WIN FOR DAMIANO CIMA

An unforgettable edition for team Nippo-Fantini too. The Italian rider Damiano Cima took the first historical win of his team at Giro d’Italia, after 172 km of breakaway. A victory achieved with grit, determination, but also a lot of lucidity in the final meters despite the fatigue.
EF Education First and Israel Cycling Academy have been protagonist too with many and many kms of breakaway collected to the attack. Actions that have guarantee to the FSA brand a great media visibility and many hours of national and international television broadcasts.
