Kross-Spur Racing Team riders made an impressive effort during the second stage the Absa Cape Epic. Both of the teams finished as the second in their category, and showed the pure fighting spirit during the day.

Second stage was announced by the organisers as a little bit easier than premiere one, but beautiful roads around the Oak View quickly verified, who will be able to fight for the top positions. From the beginning of the stage, Ondřej Cink and Sergio Mantecón presented really impressive form, and till the end they were in a game for a stage win. Finally, they finished as a second, just behind dominating duo: Nino Schurter / Lars Forster.

Kross women’s duo: Maja Włoszczowska / Ariane Luthi finished as a second for the third day in a row. Polish-swiss pair is still in the game for the GC win, and, as Włoszczowska said, they would try to put a little pressure on the leaders: Anna van der Breggen and Annika Langvad.

- We worked together very well. Ariane knew how to manage the pace on this course. We know, how strong we are, and we’ll try to show it in the next stages – said Włoszczowska.
On Wednesday the riders will have to ride 107 kilometers with the start and the finish point in the Oak Valley Estate.
